Harris Martinson was born in Maryland in 1985.
He is a painter who presented his first solo exhibition The Future Burns in 2023 and has shown in group exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Center (Cincinnati, Ohio), the Leeds Gallery at Earlham College (Richmond, Indiana), and at The Cooper Union (New York, New York).
He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The University of Iowa (Iowa City, Iowa). From 2021 to 2023, he taught courses in Color Theory & Practice and Beginning Drawing at Miami University. He currently serves as a Technical Assistant in the Art & Architecture Shop at The Cooper Union.
In addition to painting, he builds furniture objects for his home and studio practice.
He lives and works in New York, NY.
